Working with Madoka over the past couple of months has been such a valuable experience. Every session brought new insights and helped me become more aware of myself, my patterns, and the ways I was holding myself back.

まどかさんはとても包容力があり、安心して本音で話せる方です。関わる中で、自分では気づいていなかった本当の気持ちや「本来どうしたかったのか」に気づくきっかけをもらいました。
丁寧に話を聞いてくださるだけでなく、ユーモアを交えながら自然に会話をしてくださるので、一緒にいる時間がとても楽しく、安心感があります。時折英語が自然に混ざるところもまどかさんらしいな、と思っています。
また仕事が本当に早く、一度関わるととても真剣に向き合ってくださる方です。情に深く、優しさゆえに無理をしてしまうのではと感じるほど、人に対して誠実に向き合っている姿が印象的でした。
会話をする中で自分自身を客観的に見られるようになったことで、気持ちが軽くなっただけでなく、物事の捉え方にも変化がありました。
Madoka is someone with a great sense of warmth and acceptance, which makes it easy to speak honestly and openly with her. Through our conversations, she helped me notice feelings and desires I hadn’t even been fully aware of myself, including what I truly wanted deep down.
She listens carefully, but also brings humor and lightness into conversations naturally, which makes spending time with her both enjoyable, comforting and safe. I also find the way English occasionally slips naturally into conversation very ‘Madoka-like.’
She is incredibly quick and dedicated in her work, and once involved, she genuinely commits herself wholeheartedly. What impressed me most was how sincerely and compassionately she engages with people — to the point where I sometimes wondered if she was giving too much of herself for others.
Simply through talking with her, I became able to look at myself more objectively. That helped lift a weight off my mind and gradually changed the way I see things as well.

2025年に日本に滞在していた際、まどかさんは、私のパブリックスピーキングイベントで通訳として協力してくれました。Motomoto Galleryで開催した個展でのアーティストトークや、美術館・アートギャラリーのディレクターとの継続的なミーティングでもサポートしてくれました。
まどかさんは非常に好奇心旺盛で、物事の本質を鋭く見抜く聡明さを持った方です。常に準備を怠らず、的確なアドバイスとガイダンスで力強く支えてくれました。それだけでなく、私の作品や創作活動の背景にある個人的・思想的な意図まで深く理解し、それを丁寧に伝えようと尽力してくれました。日本語と英語の両方を理解する参加者たちからも、彼女の通訳は正確で、ニュアンスに富み、知的にも非常に緻密であるという声が寄せられていました。
その後は、私の個展についての思慮深く心のこもった、書き下ろしのエッセイを英語と日本語の両方で執筆してくれました。
穏やかで寛大、そして誠実な人柄に加え、素晴らしいユーモアのセンスを持つ人です。まどかさんとはその後も交流が続き、今では親しい友人となっています。
Madoka Muramatsu kindly agreed to work as my translator at public speaking events during my stay in Japan in 2025. She helped me during the artist talk at my solo exhibition at Motomoto Gallery, and at ongoing meetings with Museum and Art Gallery Directors.
I found Madoka to be curious and astute, always prepared, extremely supportive with her advice and guidance while also making extra effort to understand and communicate both the personal and theoretical thought behind my work and art practice. Dual language speakers mentioned how accurate, nuanced and intellectually rigorous her translations were.
After our work together Madoka also wrote the thoughtful and heart-felt exhibition review essay in both English and Japanese. A gentle, generous and authentic person with a great sense of humor, Madoka and I have remained in touch and have become close friends.

アメリカから日本を訪れた際、高齢の父が長年連絡を失っていた旧友を探したいと思っていました。でも、どこから始めればいいのか全く分かりませんでした。
そんな中、まどかさんはご家族に連絡を取ってくださり、日本語で直接お電話までして、新しい連絡先を見つけてくれました（ご本人はすでに退職されていて、以前使われていたメールアドレスは使えなくなっていたのです）。
まどかさんのおかげで、父は長年の友人と再びつながることができました。
まどかさんは本当に素晴らしい方です。とても親切で思いやりがあり、いつも快く力になってくれます。そして、必要な時にはさらに一歩踏み込んでサポートしてくれる人です。本当に最高です！
Madoka is amazing! When I traveled to Japan from the U.S., I wanted to locate an old friend of my elderly father, whom my father had lost contact with — but I did not know where to start. Madoka kindly reached out to his family, called him on the phone and spoke to him in Japanese, and provided us with his new contact information (he had retired, and so his email that my father had had stopped working). Madoka went the extra mile to help my father locate and get reacquainted with his longtime friend. Madoka is amazing. Always kind, willing to help, and ready to go that extra mile. She is the best!

I met Madoka during her stay in Greece, and we connected almost instantly. Some friendships take years to develop, but with Madoka there was an immediate sense of trust, understanding, and ease. Over time she has become one of those rare people I feel truly fortunate to know, and someone I hope will remain a lifelong friend.
One of the things I admire most about Madoka is her remarkable ability to understand people. She has a quiet intelligence and intuition that allow her to see beyond the surface of a situation, often bringing clarity when things feel confusing or overwhelming.
What makes Madoka special is that she never approaches people with assumptions or ready-made answers. She listens carefully, with genuine warmth and sensitivity, and offers thoughtful guidance that is tailored to the person in front of her. When you talk to her, you feel truly heard and understood.
Madoka is also one of the most caring people I know. She has a natural gift for helping others recognize their strengths, see new possibilities, and move forward with greater confidence. Her kindness is sincere and her support always comes from a place of deep respect and compassion.
