Career ・ キャリア
時事通信社の記者として、東京本社社会部と那覇支局で、政治・経済、国際関係、在日米軍問題、社会問題などのトピックを担当。英文部では、マーケットニュースに加え、海外からの高官へのインタビューや独自の切り口による特集記事を英語で執筆し、The Japan Times や The Japan News などの英字紙に掲載された。
その後、駐日南アフリカ大使館、国際協力NGO JOICFP を経て、在日オーストラリア大使館にて駐日大使スピーチライター 兼 コミュニケーション担当官（広報・文化部）として勤務。広報戦略の立案と実行、オウンドメディアやＳＮＳでの日英バイリンガル記事の執筆・編集や情報発信、報道機関との連携強化などに携わった。
第一線のジャーナリズムを離れた後も、フリージャーナリスト・ライター活動を継続。執筆記事は『Yahoo!ニュース Japan』などに掲載されている。
Muramatsu began her career as a reporter with Jiji Press, one of Japan's major national wire services. Working at the Tokyo headquarters and the Okinawa bureau, she covered politics, international relations, U.S. military affairs in Japan, economics, and social issues. While working in the agency's English news department, she wrote market news, feature stories, and interviews with visiting international officials. Her work appeared in leading English-language newspapers including The Japan Times and The Japan News.
She later worked at the Embassy of South Africa in Japan and at JOICFP, where she served as official interpreter to the Ambassador and managed bilingual communications materials. At the Australian Embassy in Tokyo, she served as Speechwriter to the Ambassador and as a Communications Officer in the Public Affairs and Cultural Section — contributing to communications strategy, writing and editing bilingual content, and strengthening relationships with journalists.
After leaving frontline journalism, she has continued writing as a freelance journalist and essayist, with work appearing on platforms including Yahoo! News Japan.
Education & Background ・ 学びの軌跡
出身は九州の地方都市で、周りに英語が話せる人が皆無という環境で育った。海外滞在経験やエリート語学プログラムの経験もないなかで、強い好奇心に突き動かされて主に独学で英語を習得。各種英語弁論大会・暗証大会に出場し、中学時代の高松宮杯全国英語スピーチコンテストでは、全国で２位を獲得。のちにTOEIC満点（990点）を達成。大学在籍中にカリフォルニア大学バークレー校へ交換留学し、社会学とジャーナリズムを学んだ。上智大学外国語学部英語学科卒。
Muramatsu grew up in a rural city in Kyushu, southwestern Japan, where few people spoke English. Without overseas immersion or elite language programs, she largely taught herself English driven by curiosity and a love of expression. She placed second nationwide in the Takamado Cup English Speech Contest in junior high school, later achieving a perfect TOEIC score (990). She studied sociology and journalism as an exchange student at UC Berkeley, before graduating from the Faculty of Foreign Language Studies, Sophia University in Tokyo.
Inner Journey ・ 本質への旅路
一見華やかな経歴の背後にある「目覚め」への道のりは、自身の喪失と苦しみの旅路でもあった。長い内省と学びを経て、米国 Mindvalley 社にてライフコーチングのトレーニングプログラムを修了した数少ない日本人の認定ライフコーチ ／ メディテーション指導者でもある。ヨガインストラクター（全米ヨガアライアンス２００）資格保有者。
科学的理論に基づく実践型・結果にコミットするプログラム構成と、内側の声に寄り添う内的探求とを融合させた総合的なアプローチが特徴。公私両面での豊かな経験に支えられたグローバルな視座が、彼女のコーチングを支える土台となっている。
ニュースジャーナリストとして培ったのは、事実と解釈を鋭く見極める目。ただ、現在は単なる「ファクト」以上に「真実」に対してより忠実であることを常に意識している。
Behind what might appear to be a polished path lies a journey of personal loss and reflection. Through years of inner work, she trained with Mindvalley — one of the world's largest personal-growth organizations — and became one of the relatively few Japanese certified life coaches and meditation instructors through its programs. She is also a certified yoga instructor (RYT-200).
Her coaching integrates structured, results-oriented methodology grounded in science with deep inner exploration and self-inquiry. A global perspective shaped by both professional and personal experience underpins her work.
As a journalist, she developed a sharp eye for distinguishing fact from interpretation. Today, while she continues to respect the discipline of facts, her deepest commitment is to something beyond them — truth.

Voice & Embodiment ・ 言葉のこれから
近年は声による表現にも力を注ぎ始めており、言葉をより身体的に届ける新たな手法にも取り組んでいる。2025年には、ニュージーランド出身のアーティスト、フランシス・メルホップ氏の個展「Visible Mending」に詩とエッセイを寄稿。断絶・回復・再生というテーマを言葉で紡いだ。
どの活動においても、彼女の根底には「静けさに宿る存在感」「感情の深み」、そして「人間への深い愛」と「本質へのまなざし」が息づいている。
In recent years she has begun focusing more on voice and spoken expression, exploring ways of delivering language in a more embodied and resonant form. In 2025, she contributed poetry and essays to the exhibition Visible Mending by New Zealand-born artist Frances Melhop, weaving words around themes of rupture, healing, and renewal.
Across all of her work runs a consistent thread: a quiet but powerful presence, emotional depth, and a deep love for humanity and the search for what is essential.
